Hey there!! My name is Rachel Barrick and I am so in love with being an instructor at The Earth School at Fauna Forest Farms. In 2024, I graduated from ETSU in the Art & Design program. It was here that I cultivated a deep connection to Appalachia and the nature based arts it has to offer. From weaving to woodworking, I cannot get enough of using what mother earth has provided us and creating something new from it! It is also from this that my passion for waste efficient art comes from. Recycling and upcycling is my favorite way to thank nature for the beauty it provides us. A daughter of a former elementary school teacher, working with kids has always been a passion of mine as well. It is my 3rd year as an Earth School Instructor, and beyond that I have worked as a nanny, daycare instructor, camp counselor, and soccer coach for middle school girls and special needs children! I have found that every child can teach us something new everyday, and that is why I strive to let their creativity run free! 

Outside of the Earth School, I am also an adjunct professor at ETSU for weaving and introduction art. Beyond that, I love to talk about (and show pictures of) my cats Momo and Bix, and my weenie dog Trinket! I also sell my personal art as "The Starlight Fairy" along with fellow instructor (and my best friend) Kennedy Hunt "Sunbug Arts" at local markets. You can also find me hiking local trails, drinking way too much caffeine at local coffee shops, or even perhaps scuba diving with whale sharks!

My life is a true dream combination of all of my passions, and I am over the moon to share it with the community!"
